Non Load Bearing and Motor Driven Rooftops
Rooftops are an important part of any outdoor production. There are two different types of rooftops available in the rental market today, and they can be described as follows:
1) Non Load Bearing - This rooftop, sometimes called a shade roof, is used on smaller events. It's usually made of a minibeam base, and uses crank up towers at each corner to hold the structure up. This rooftop style can not hold much weight - some lighting is generally the most you can put on it.
2) Load Bearing - Also called a motor driven rooftop, or motor-driven canopy, is typically used on larger events. This rooftop structure can hold a significant amount of weight, including large banners, flown line arrays, and more extensive lighting rigs.
At Sound Mind Events, we own both styles of rooftops, and have been called all over the domestic US to handle outdoor events.
